How Much Money Do I Need to Get Started?

This service operates with a starting bank of 100-points.

How Much Money Can I Make?

There are no specific claims made. However, the proofing page for Trident Racing on the WAP Tipsters website shows over 750-points profit since the service launched in March 2014. That equates to an average of around 12-points per month over the lifetime.

How Much Time Will I Need to Make This Work?

With between one and three win-singles each day and using a flat-rate staking scheme, this is as simple as they come to follow. A maximum of five to ten minutes each evening when the tips are received should be all you need.

Will I Need Any Equipment to Do This?

A PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone with internet connection and a range of online bookmaker accounts to maximise the potential returns.

Value for Money?

As always, I’ll defer a comment here until the end of the review.

Quality of Customer Service?

I struggled to find a “Contact Us” link on the website. However, when using the email address I obtained to set up the reviews (admin@waptipsters.com) my dealings with them have always been met with a prompt and professional response.

Review

Trident Racing originally got its name from its three-pronged attack on the daily UK racing cards. However, recently there have been some changes to the service and the number of selections is now between one and three per day and the selections are now also accompanied by a brief assessment of the tip.

Although a relative newcomer to WAP Tipsters, Trident Racing has been in existence since March 2014. Rob focuses on handicaps and pattern races whilst avoiding five- and six-furlong sprints where the outcome can be decided by a horse’s break from the stalls. Novice hurdles and chases are also given a wide berth. The approach to assessing a race is built on video replays, stewards’ reports, jockey/trainer stats and course form.

The email is generally one of the first I see for the next day’s racing from our many tipsters. Arriving between 16:00 and 18:00 as a rule, the email now contains the selection, the advised odds, the bookmaker (s) with those odds, the recommended stake and a brief analysis of the selection. As well as via the email, the tips are also available in the members’ area of the website.

Staking is almost always one-point to win, although an occasional two-point stake is recommended on a “nap”.

There is a spreadsheet on the website showing the performance since launch in March 2014 and this shows over 750-points profit at an average of around 12-points per month over the lifetime.

Results – Month 1 (19th June to 18th July 2019)

Thirty days and 58 tips later we ended up back where we started the month. To be pedantic there was actually a profit of 0.35 of a point! Obviously, this equates to a net loss after taking into account the membership fee for the month.

The strike rate for the month was 25.86% as 15 winners were recorded from the 58 selections. The average odds of those winners was 4.00 (3/1), compared to 6.25 (just over 5/1) for the selections as a whole.

The month started with the worst losing sequence of the period, with the first 11 selections all failing. On the other hand, there were also two occasions of three consecutive winners during the month.

Results – Month 2 (19th July to 18th August 2019)

The change in approach from three tips every day to a more selective one to three selections meant the total number of bets this month fell to 37 (ignoring two non-runners). These produced nine winners, including Battle Of Waterloo at 12/1, for a strike rate of 24.32%, very similar to the previous month. However, the more selective nature of the tips meant that this was good enough for a monthly profit of 14.88 points. Added to the tiny gain from last month gives us a running profit of  15.23 points after two months.

Although the average odds of all selections remained constant at 6.3 (6.25 last month), the average odds of the winning selections was significantly higher than last month at 5.74 (between 9/2 and 5/1) compared to just 4.00 (3/1) last time. This was also a major contributory factor to the improved profit performance.

This month could have been better still had it not been for an unbroken run of eight consecutive losers to close out the month.

After two months we now have a return on investment (ROI) of 14.79%. This nets down, after the cost of two month’s membership, to 5.68% at £10 per point stakes and 12.84% at £50 per point. In monetary terms we are sitting on a net profit of £63.50 from £10 per point stakes or £672.70 to £50 per point.

Summary at End of Month 1

No gain, but no pain either, and our attention now switches to the next two months.

Summary at End of Month 2

The new approach to the number of daily selections, combined with a significant rise in the average odds of the winning selections, leaves us nicely in profit going into the third and final month of the review.
