The Importance Of A Good Saver Bet

| May 3, 2011 | Reply

Last night saw the final of the snooker World Championship and thanks to a little bit of caution and a refusal to give into greed, it proved a profitable one for me and hopefully for you too.

That’s because I advised a saver bet right here after our two initial selections, Ding Junhui and Mark Williams made the semi finals.

In this case our saviour was John Higgins but I could easily have advised a lay bet, or a ‘dutch’ between Higgins and the pain in the arse that is Judd Trump.

The principle is just the same…

We placed a saver bet to take advantage of the progress of our two bets and lock in a profit.

If you placed the Higgins bet you will have emerged in profit on our outright bets by two points (£200 if placing £100 per bet) and in profit over the entire tournament by just over half a point (£62.50 to £100 stakes).

Not amazing sure but given that a certain Bristolian seems to have made it his personal mission to ruin my snooker bets it’s a figure that I’m pretty pleased with.

And that just goes to show the importance of a well timed saver bet…

Like Higgins himself, they may not be as pretty as ‘pretty boy’ Judd but they’re certainly more effective.

So hats off to John Higgins and hats off to a cool head…

Take a bow son, take a bow.
