How Much Money Do I Need to Get Started?

A 100-point betting bank is recommended for The Bet Detective service.

How Much Money Can I Make?

The results on the Betfan website shows 47.63 points profit between January and July 2019 at a monthly average of just under eight points per month. However, virtually all of that profit came in January, February and March with just a tiny profit in May sandwiched between two losing months.

How Much Time Will I Need to Make This Work?

Just a few minutes each day when the tips are received. The information is clear and easy to follow, and the staking is a flat one-point per bet.

Will I Need Any Equipment to Do This?

The standard fare of a laptop, PC, tablet or smart phone with internet connectivity and access to a range of online bookmaker accounts is recommended.

Value for Money?

Let’s wait until the end of the review period before considering this aspect.

Quality of Customer Service?

Has the backing and support of the Betfan platform. Requests for support are made via the support ticket system on the website. I have always received a quick and professional response when using the Betfan support system to set up reviews.

Review

The Bet Detective joined forces with Betfan in January 2019 to provide tips across a broad range of sports.

Selections can come from any sport and although the majority are straight win singles, there can be an odd multiple or even a lay option thrown in if the markets dictate. Amongst the sports covered are football, horse racing, cricket, golf, rugby union, rugby league and golf. The ante-post markets are also used when value is identified.

The daily email notification arrives between 08:30 and 10:00, with the tips also being available in the members’ area of the website and on the Betfan app. The email identifies the bookmakers with the advised odds which makes placing the bets a matter of a few minutes each day. On average you can expect to receive three or four tips each day.

Staking is a flat one-point on each bet, so no complicated staking plans to get your head around with this service! That said, the average odds are around 6/4 so the strike rate needs to be nice and high to maintain profitability.

According to the Betfan website, The Bet Detective started his proofing with three profitable months in January, February and March this year. Since then there has been a small profit in June, sandwiched between losses in May and July. Overall the profit from this service in the first six months amounts to 47.63 points profit at a monthly average of just under eight points per month.

Results – Month 1 (26th July to 25th August 2019)

Despite a reasonable start to the first month of the review, which included all four selections winning on 30th July, the period ended with a loss of 10.31 points.

There were 103 singles this month, which provided 47 winners at a strike rate of 45.63%. There were also two doubles (both lost) and two trebles (both lost).

The average odds of all selection for this period was 2.64 (a shade over 6/4), but the winning selections averaged just 2.0 (evens). The biggest winning odds were 3.75 on Rob Cross to win the World Matchplay darts, placed after the quarter finals.

The final two days of the month summed up perfectly the variety of the picks you get with this service, with football, horse racing, cricket, rugby league and golf all covered.

Summary at End of Month 1

Far from a disaster in the first month and scope to pull the review period round in the next two months, but needs to get the strike rate well up from where it is if the average winning odds stay close to evens.
