Where to Buy:

Rhodium Racing

How Much Money Do I Need to Get Started?

A betting bank of 100-points is recommended for this service.

How Much Money Can I Make?

The website claims £212 per month average profits to £10 per point stakes.

How Much Time Will I Need to Make This Work?

With simple straightforward win and each way singles providing most of the action this is not a time-consuming service to follow. The main point to bear in mind is that the number of tips rises during the main festivals. Even then you are unlikely to see more than eight or so tips on any day.

Will I Need Any Equipment to Do This?

PC, laptop or mobile device with Internet access and accounts with a range of online bookmakers.

Value for Money?

A final verdict on the VFM aspect will be given at the end of the review period. Suffice to say at this time that it has made an encouraging start. Unfortunately, Rhodium Racing ended the review period with a loss of over 30-points, and when the cost of membership is taken into account this loss becomes even more substantial. On that basis I am unable to award this service a VFM pass based on the review period.

Quality of Customer Service?

James Walsh and his team at Tipsters Empire place customer service at the forefront of everything they do and aim to deliver a first-class experience to members. My dealings with them have always been conducted in a professional, courteous and timely fashion.

Rhodium Racing is a relative newcomer and has been tipping horses for two years. He joined Tipsters Empire in mid-April this year and underwent their normal testing period. During that four-month trial the results show almost 100-points profit, and since going live in mid-August a further 55-points have been added to that total according to the results spreadsheet on the website.

Tips are almost exclusively win and each-way singles, although the occasional double appears if the selections dictate. The email is sent the evening before racing, generally between 20:30 and 22:30, and as well as the details of the selections it has an analysis of the rationale for that pick. The exception is on particularly busy days, when the rational may be omitted to ensure the selections are sent out in a timely manner to secure the best prices.

The layout of the email is the traditional Tipsters Empire format with the race time and venue, horses name, advised odds, bookies with those odds, and the stake listed before the analysis of the selection. The odds are generally available when the email is received, although longer priced selections tend to drop quickly once the selections are out.

When you join Rhodium Racing you also receive his incremental staking plan, although all of the results referenced in this review are based on flat £10 per point stakes.

Rhodium Racing states on his profile, “My tipping has been improving during my time as a tipster and I’m always looking for ways to become even better. I’m extremely hungry to be the best in the business….” This desire is evident in the analysis that is produced and some of the success that has already been achieved.

The question now is whether or not he can make that dream come true.

Results – Month 1 (19th October to 18th November 2018)

The review period couldn’t have started much better with three winners from the first five tips, including Confessional at 14/1 advised as a half-point each way bet. Unfortunately, a barren run of 19 selections wiped 23 points from the profit and loss account around the mid-point of the month, before the ship was steadied and 18 points were recovered in the remainder of the period to leave us with an overall profit of 6.70 points.

This monthly profit is below the 21-point average claimed for the service to date, but is a steady enough start to the review period and provides a foundation to build the next two months on towards that level.

There were 86 bets this month (38 were win singles, 47 were each way singles and one each way double). The strike rate was 20.93% and the average odds of all the selections was 7.84 (just under 7/1). The average odds of the winning selections was lower at 5.17 (just over 4/1).

The Return on Investment (ROI) worked out at 6.09% this period, whilst the ROC (Return on Capital) was 6.7%.

Results – Month 2 (19th November to 18th December 2018)

Although we saw a slightly higher strike rate this month – 25% – the average odds of the winning selections fell by more than a point to 4.04 (c.3/1). The upshot of this was a loss for the month of 5.87 points which all but wiped out the profit from the first month, leaving us with just .83 of a point. After the cost of membership for the two months there is now a net loss from following this service of £61.73 at £10 per point stakes or £38.73 at £50 per point.

There were six each way doubles and one win double this month compared to just a solitary win double last month. There has been no return from any of the doubles. Of the 70 single bets, 28 were each way and these provided two placed returns in addition to the three each way winners.

As well as the average odds of the winning selections being lower this month, the average of all selections was also down and there was a much narrower range of prices this time around (1.57 to 13.0, with the next highest after the thirteen being 7.5).

The longest losing sequence this month was nine, which was nowhere near the 19 experienced last month.

Results – Month 3 (19th December 2018 to 18th January 2019)

With slightly more tips than last month and a slightly lower strike rate, the result this month was a larger loss of 35.52 points.

There was a run of 18 bets between winners at one point, which included just one placed selection. There were no successful multiple bets in the period either (five doubles, two trebles and two trixies).

Over the course of the three months we have now lost a total of 34.7 points, plus we would have paid out a further £104.97 on monthly memberships.

Summary at End of Month 1

A steady enough start, which provides a platform to push on from for the next two months to deliver results nearer to the historic averages claimed.

Summary at End of Month 2

With most of the profit from Month 1 wiped out by this month’s performance, Rhodium Racing is left with an uphill task to deliver a result for the review which reflects anything approaching the historic claims for this service.

Summary at End of month 3

The period of the review cannot offer any evidence to support the historic performance claims of this service. Notwithstanding the fact that three months is still a relatively short time to fully evaluate a tipster, on the basis of the review alone I would assess Rhodium Racing as a two-star rating.
