Midpoint Review 27/03/2012

I have been surprised at the number of tips received through this service and it is clearly taken seriously by whoever provides the tips. As well as the normal each way bets for the main tournaments there are individual daily match recommendations so you can maintain an interest in the whole of the tournament.

It should be understood that golf tipping is akin to the Long Shot King in terms of the likely pattern of success. With prices generally quite high there may be a gap between winners although the match bets are designed to overcome this void.

In the first 2 weeks of the trial we have seen a total of 69 different bets and the net effect of these has been a small loss of 2 points. We have nominally staked 1 point on each bet. In terms of a golf service this is acceptable and also too early to form a lasting view of things.

We will carry on for at least 2 more months to get a clearer view of the potential of the service.

Review 05/04/2012

The service has continued in the same manner through the rest of the trial with a mixture of place and event betting and as is often the case with golf services is now showing a profit thanks to a strong performance in 1 tournament – in this case The Masters. Picking 2 of the top 5 is no mean achievement and a winner at 50/1 is always going to help.

Readers should be aware that golf betting is rather like The Longshot King style of things where you can have long losing runs but this is reflected in the winners odds when they come along.

Full details of the tips are given in the spreadsheet which includes the tournaments in course at the time of writing. An overall return on Investment of 15% has been seen which is very acceptable and if you only placed the event bets the return is almost 100% so perhaps we should learn from that.

When taken with the overall Surewin package this is a potentially useful portfolio element and is recommended non that basis. We will keep monitoring for another 2 months and update readers.

Final Update 17/5/2012:

Two successive weeks with winners have seen a good stride forward on performance here and it is probably wise to anticipate a leaner spell for a few weeks now. The ROI has crept up to 17.24% and if you ignored the match play tips would be better. As can be seen from the spreadsheet £10 bets would have more than covered the whole Surewin subscription and left a profit to use elsewhere. We continue to recommend this service as part of a portfolio element.
