My apologies for the upset this will undoubtedly cause to members from north of the Tweed but my first reaction was to laugh when the words Scottish and Football were mentioned together. But seeing that the service was offered by a longstanding professional publisher who seems to have a knack of uncovering niche betting opportunities I thought we should take a look at the offer.

The concept is simple – the unknown expert studies stats and form for all the professional Scottish leagues and concentrating on the 1×2 and Over/Under markets assesses if there is value in the odds available. Should he discover such value he immediately emails his members advising a bet detailing the range of odds available and the level at which he considers is the minimum offering a worthwhile punt. The emails can arrive at any time in the days of the week preceding the games and are intended to be acted upon immediately to ensure the value is locked in. The advices include recommended stakes for each bet between 1 and 3 points with a bank of at least 25 points recommended.

I missed the first round of matches covered by the service and in the 6 weeks since we have seen 45 bets recommended of which 25 have been successful (55.6%) and a profit of 13.9 points generated. It is possible that users will have slightly varying profit levels as always best to check for the best odds around on receipt of emails. Using the second best odds available the average price of selections to date has been 2.37 which footy fans will know is high for potentially successful betting in these markets. A winner at 5.0 in the win market was achieved.

The majority of selections have been in the win market which is also showing the best return although an overall ROI of 23.95% is creditable. For those interested I have specified in the right hand column of the spreadsheet the minimum odds considered appropriate for the recommendation – some wide margins to the odds available are seen.

So far just 1 weekend has not proved profitable for the service and a near perfect follow up made up for this. A losing run of 5 bets has been countered by a winning streak of 9 which is the opposite way to that seen from most tipsters.

In my case all I need to do is overcome this phobia about Scottish Football – the rest of you should probably consider subscribing as with just £10 stakes you are more than covering the subscription and the service appears soundly based. There is a 30 day guarantee available to new subscribers.

Update 31/12/2017:

Halfway through the season now so a good time to take stock here. There have now been over 100 valid bets – the recent weather has led to several postponed games – and the strike rate has remained above 50% but the profitability has suffered significantly.

Of the 105 bets 54 (51.4%) have won with the Over/Under selections proving profitable and the straight wins incurring a loss. Overall profit is just 3.9 points at an ROI of 2.75% which is going to make it hard to be profitable after the monthly subs are taken into account.

There is no obvious change of process and hopefully there service is going through a downturn which will be corrected sooner rather than later. The updated results may be viewed here:

End of Season Update 19/5/2018

A slight improvement was seen early in the new year with 8 points profit generated but this has been all but dissipated now and an overall profit of just 2.2 points achieved through the season. We saw 191 bets struck of which 90 were successful (47.12%) – a losing streak of 10 bets did not help the cause.

Subscribers will justifiably feel let down here. 8 or 9 months subs at £56.40 would mean stakes of £205 per point just to break even. Hardly an attractive prospect and I shall be surprised if this service survives into the next season.
