Staking up to 2 points per selection and small multiples sometimes advised.

We were approached by the author to review his service which has recently launched and will be developed with some additional betting advice and the introduction of a bot for clients within the current pricing structure.

The service website is quite clear on what is offered and how delivery will be effected and to date this has been our experience. A weekly email advises the potential races where bets may occur and then a daily email offers more detail on the races in question and specifies any selections that may arise with staking and prices currently available (which have been accurate). Emails may be received at varying times if the author considers a price may collapse but generally are seen late morning on the day of racing. Good to see that the potential profit for client is at the forefront of the service ethos.

Concentrating on handicap racing at Class 2 or better the service has devised its own ratings (with speed being a significant factor) and a shortlist for the races is passed to clients with commentary on the prospects and why any selections are made. A recent refinement was to make it mandatory to include the top rated horse in qualifying races as experience has shown a high strike rate for these.

Selections are advised as either win or each way and multiples are also suggested on occasion. A betting bank of 80 points is recommended and staking for individual runners is either 1 or 2 points.

Although the occasional Class 3 race is considered the restriction on type of race covered means the number of selections is not going to be high and in just under 2 months we have seen 80 runners with 22 of them providing a return to the bank so meeting the target strike rate of 25%. A couple of early winners provided some confidence and although there was a slight drawdown (4.5 points) the bank has generally been in profit with a peak of 27.5 points and currently 14 to the good. The ROI is a reasonable 9.7% but somewhat short of the target detailed on the website which is ambitious.

It is still early days for the service with a relatively small sample considered and the signs are positive and the subscription price is reasonable. Things certainly feel right with good customer care and attention to detail so lets hope we have started with a relatively poor run and can report improved returns in early May. With some good quality end of season jump racing coming up may be worth taking the trial to see what you think .

Update 23/5/2017:

The change to predominantly flat racing has not seen a change in fortunes for the service which has taken a downwards turn since the initial review. There has been no change in the attention given to the selections – the service continues to feel professional and there has not been any sign of chasing losses.

We have now seen 212 runners and 53 cash generators (25%) and with a losing streak of 16 encountered this has led to a drawdown of 36 points with 10p of every £1 staked staying with the bookies.

A further update will be offered at the end of June when a firm conclusion may be possible but for now we would not recommend subscribing.

Update 8/7/2017:

Sad to report the decline in fortunes has continued and the starting bank has all but gone now. With 270 runners we have 62 cash returners but over a month and 50 bets since the last race winner. Looks like it is back to the drawing board as the system is clearly not bearing fruit.

Thanks for the nice review Peter.

Just thought I post the ratings shortlists for Saturday 1st April 2017 races to give people and idea of the offerings in the hope that they might like to take the £1 trial (14 days) in time for Aintree.

    2.25 Doncaster
    Sacred Act -33 (W+Y)
    Examiner -33

    3.35 Doncaster
    Master Carpenter -38

    2.40 Kempton
    Dutch Golden Age – 38 (W+Y)
    Go Far -45 (W+Y)
    Mount Kiara -47

    3.15 Kempton
    Big Country -42 (W+Y)
    Wild Hacked -42 (W+Y)
    Gawdawalpin -52

SACRED ACT and EXAMINER are joint top of the ratings for the 2.25 Doncaster and also the only ones on the shortlist. The former is a potential Group horse in a handicap with form on softer ground, whilst the latter is a classy handicapper who is well handicapped and stays further than the bare 1m which should see him come home as good as anything else. He has won on good-to-soft and is fit and well. Be very disappointed were if we didn’t have at least one hit the places.

Only one horse makes the Lincoln (3.35 Doncaster) shortlist and that is MASTER CARPENTER. He is hellishly well handicapped, goes well on softer ground, stays 1m2f so should be finishing strongly and he has what looks like a cracking draw. A decent claimer takes 5lb off his back and everything looks in place for a huge run, including a winner from the stable’s only other runner this week.

DUTCH GOLDEN AGE 2.40 Kempton is a strong fancy for this race. He won well last time over C&D, has a good draw and comes from a stable that knows ow to win races here. He’s only gone up 7lb for that last win and given his progressive nature you’d have to think he has at least another 7lb in hand which means he has to take the beating here.

Two horses top the ratings for the 3.15 Kempton and they are: BIG COUNTRY and WILD HACKED. Big Country strolled to a maiden win at Wolverhampton last time over 1m4f which means he’ll have plenty of stamina for this 1m3f trip. He has no weight on his back and comes from a stable bang in form, while having SDS in the saddle has to be a big plus too. Wild Hacked won well last time out when last seen back in October at Windsor and gives me the impression that he could well be a Group horse in a handicap. Expect to see him late and fast.

  2. Betcatalyst says:

A nice little 2.25 point profit on 11 points invested for the day. Again, it’s just £1 for a 14 day trial of the service and that will take in the Grand National meeting too.

  3. Betcatalyst says:

We only cover one race today.

    4.40 Aintree
    Foxtail Hill -32 (W+Y)
    Rock On Rocky -32 (W+Y)
    Yorkist -33
    Doitforthevillage -33

FOXTAIL HILL, positive with W+Y both green, could well run these into to ground if he gets an easy lead and at 12-1 on Betfair Sporttsbook bog. ROCK ON ROCKY is also too big not to back given he’s joint top-rated, W+Y is green and that his form has worked out well too. Yorkist is only 1lb off the joint top-ratred duo and cannot be discounted either given how well the stable seems to be going at present. Doitforthevillage also is just 1lb off them. These four are well clear of the rest on my ratings.

1 point ew Foxtail Hill @ 12-1 Betfair Sportsbook bog
1 point ew Rock On Rocky @ 28-1 Betbright bog

Check out the £1 offer at the link above if you want our ratings and analysis for the other handicaps at the Aintree Festival.

    Friday @ Aintree

    1.40 Aintree
    Dream Berry -24 (W+Y/Trainer Won)
    Sumkindofking -25 (W+Y)
    Runswick Royal -29 (W+Y/TIFStrong)
    Ice Cold Saul -29 (W+Y)

    4.05 Aintree
    Bouvreil -11 (W+Y/Trainer Won)
    Imjoeking -21 (W+Y)
    Katachenko -25
    Go Conquor -67 (Trainer Won)

DREAM BERRY 1.40 Aintree ran a stormer last time at Kempton for one so inexperienced and comes from a stable that has won the race before. Has the profile of a horse that can go off a lot shorter come race time and is a good ew bet.

BOUVREIL 4.05 Aintree tops the ratings by a good long way and has to be backed for a stable that has won the race before and is also in form. Trip and ground are ideal and the flatter track will suit. In all a avery good ew bet as I have him in around 7-1 fav.

1 point ew Dream Berry 1.40 Aintree @ 10-1 generally bog
    1 point ew Bouvreil 4.05 Aintree @ 12-1 Bet365 bog 1-2-3-4-5 places 1/4 odds
