Brief Summary:

Part of the Betting Gods platform, this service offers daily greyhound racing tips all year-round. On average there are 70-80 bets per month. Bets are advised win, and very occasionally each-way, and a recommended points stake is given ranging from 1-5. A comprehensive rationale is given for each selection.

How Much Money Do I Need to Get Started?

The recommended starting bank is 100 points.

How Much Money Can I Make?

The web site claims an average monthly profit of £136.61 to £10 per point stakes since October 2014.

How Much Time Will I Need to Make This Work?

Minutes when the tips are received.

Will I Need Any Equipment to Do This?

Internet connection and mobile device or PC with access to on-line bookmaker accounts. Alternatively, you can use the old-fashioned method of visiting your local bookmaker!

Value for Money?

At £10 per month this service is at the lower end of the tipster pricing spectrum. However, we still want to see long-term profitability from the service, and Month 1 fell slightly short at a loss of 6.5 points. Unfortunately, the results in Month 2 have gone the wrong way (see below) and it will take a big swing in Month 3 for this service to earn a value for money pass. Month 3 did manage to recoup the losses from the first two months and put the service in a small cumulative profit. Betting at £10 per point you would have ended the three month trial with a profit of £39 after deducting the cost of the service. At £10 per month this may be worthy of a longer look to see if the gains in the final month can be maintained.

Quality of Customer Service?

Has the backing of the established Betting Gods platform and all of my e-mails have been answered quickly and efficiently. There is a “live chat” option for contacting them as well. The Betting Gods app is also very useful for ensuring you don’t miss tips or get them late through e-mail delays. A notification is sent when new tips are posted.

Review

This service was launched in October 2014 by “Michael” and is now run as part of the Betting Gods platform. As such, it benefits from an excellent infrastructure including members’ web area, Betting Gods app and excellent customer service.

Historically, the service records £136.61 average monthly profits to £10 per point stakes, at an ROI of 11.73% and a strike rate of 26.5%.

Tips are received by e-mail in the afternoon for that evening’s meetings, generally between 13:00 and 16:00. There is an e-mail on days with no bets, and this usually arrives in the morning. The tips e-mail is clearly presented and states the recommended stake, advised odds and the rationale for the selection. The write ups are comprehensive and show a good level of research, form knowledge and race analysis. As well as arriving by e-mail, the tips are available via the mobile app and the members’ area of the web site, access to both of which is provided as part of your membership. Recently an alert has been added which flashes up on both desk tops and mobile devices when tips are posted on the web site, which is a great addition.

Although historic results are quoted to £10 per point stakes, the average stake in the first month of the trial has been around three points per bet. Stakes range from one to five points depending on the strength of the tip. Average odds are around 9/2 and these have been available on every occasion I have checked. There have been just 22 bets in the first 30 days of the trial which is significantly below the 70-80 bets per month stated on the website. However, I am certainly not advocating that there should be tips for tips sake, far from it. It does just raise a slight question mark over whether or not this was a typical month. We will see what the next two months bring.

Results for Month 1 (29th January to 28th February 2018)

A slow start, with just one of the first 11 selections winning, left PGT down 24.5 points mid-month. However. Two winners from the next three tips, including Cracker Joke three-points win @ 10/1, wiped out the loss and put Michael 15.5 points up. Unfortunately, it was a case of back down the other side as we finished the first month with eight losers and an overall loss of 6.5 points.

Results for Month 2 (1st March to 28th March 2018)

The run of eight losers at the end of the first month continued, with the first five selections for Month 2 all losing. A winning string of three bets looked to have got the month back on track but just one more winner from the remaining 12 selections, including an unbroken run of eight to end the month, left the month in deficit by 19.26 points. Added to the loss brought forward from the first month the cumulative position was minus 25.76 points.

As in the previous month, we saw significantly less selections than suggested on the web site. In fact the 20 selections was actually two less than the previous month. There is certainly no basis for suggesting the losses are down to selections for selections sake.

Average odds in the month was unchanged from the previous period at 9/2.

Results for Month 3 (29th March to 28th April 2018)

The number of selections dropped to just 15 in the month. However, with a 40% strike rate it was a very definite case of quality over quantity! The average odds were slightly lower than the previous months at just over 3/1 (4.12). All in all this delivered a monthly profit of 31.66 points at a Return on Investment (ROI) of 63.32%.

There was a run of four consecutive winning bets in the month and a longest losing run of just five.

This improved performance in Month 3 meant that the review period ended with a cumulative profit of 5.9 points from 57 selections and a strike rate of 22.81%. The average odds across the three months was 5.11 (just over 4/1).

Summary at the End of Month 1

A relatively quite month, and perhaps not a typical one, to begin with. Enough signs to suggest that the longer-term picture may bear out the historic performance.

Summary at the End of Month 2

As this month mirrored the first it points to 20-25 tips per month being nearer to the norm than the 70-80 quoted on the web site. Unfortunately, my optimism that Month One may not have been a typical one has been somewhat disproved. However, there is still the final month to come and we’ll wait and see if PGT can make up some ground on the last bend.

Summary at the End of Month 3

Despite the amount of action dropping even further in the month it was a very profitable end to the review period.  As always we are looking for long-term profitability rather than short-term gratification and on that score it may be worth keeping an eye on the next few months performance via The Tipster League. At just £10 per month for membership there is scope for this service to become a welcome addition to your betting portfolio. That said, I am going to sit on the fence with a 3-star rating for this service based on the review period alone.
