Goal-den Formula – Any Questions?

| February 28, 2012 | 22 Replies

After a couple of weeks of chat, I’m pleased to announce that my brand new system will be released this Thursday.

As you know, the results have been great and I’m also planning on making this available to as many people as possible…

It will have little to no effect on the odds, so why wouldn’t I?!

I’ve already told you a fair bit about the system and the track record so now I’m going to turn the tables…

What do YOU want to know about it?

Ask me anything here – and I do mean anything – and I’ll get back to you with the answer.

Anything except for the system rules – you have to pay for them!

Get in touch via email or by leaving a comment below and I’ll send out the best questions (and of course my answers) tomorrow.

Even if your question isn’t included in tomorrow’s Betting Rant, I will respond to it here or by email.

So, what are you waiting for?

Fire away!

If you’d like to read more about exactly what’s gone into it, you can find my other articles on the subject here – Goal-den Formula

what is the strike rate fro your new system and will it be atipping service or just in book/PDF format?

    • Andrew Hallett says:

What do I divide my starting bank by for use on the Football Investor main bets? The Goalden formula states a division of twenty times your bank is this the same for the main football account bets?

      • Hi Andrew,

I would set aside 50 points for the Player Performance Bets, 20 points for Goal-den Formula and 30 points for Eye-Catchers/Fantasy 8.

        • Andrew Hallett says:

So of a £1000 staring bank, would I divide this by 3 for each individual system and use the points system accordingly?

          • Yes. Well you can either do that or just use a 100 point bank for the whole service without dividing it. Ultimately, none of the aspects of the service have ever been more than 3-4 points down anyway, so shouldn’t matter too much (fingers crossed!)

    Hi Martin,

There are two types of bets – singles and multiples. The strike rate for singles is currently 60% and for the bigger odds multiples it’s just shy of 25%.

It’ll be a PDF guide rather than a service but finding selections doesn’t take more than 20-30 mins and you only have to look twice a week (once for midweek selections and once for weekend selections).

    hi matt,
    number of questions for you
    1. is it a backing or laying system?
    2. is it horse racing, or what area?
    3. is it simple to operate and will everyone have the same selections, and results?
    4. is it set and forget using BOG or to bsp, or is in the live market?
    5. are the results easily verified?
that’ll probably be enough for now!

  4. Matt Houghton Matt Houghton says:

    Hi Richard,

    Here you go:

    1. Backing.

    2. Football.

    3. It’s very simple to operate.

In terms of selections, you can use it in any division(s) you like (I currently use it for the Premier League, Championship and League One) so your selections and results will vary depending on the divisions used but if everyone uses the same divisions everyone will get the same selections/results (hope that makes sense!).

    4. Set and forget.

    5. To an extent yes. It’s easy to verify that the selections were system selections and that the results were as recorded. In terms of the odds I suppose they’re probably less so (as you don’t get SP in football) but given that they barely differ week to week it should be pretty obvious that they’re genuine.

  5. Henry says:

    Hi Matt,

    Just a few questions:

    1. You mentioned you’re using the system for Premier League, Championship and League 1, but that it can also be used for any other leagues? Whilst maintaining similar results?

    2. In your trialing, there were 330 bets in around 14 months? Was that at a fairly even rate or did some months have a lot more selections than others?

    3. And back to the 3 leagues you used them in; did they have similar results to each other or did they differ substantially? In terms of the 11/8% ROI and strike-rate I mean.

    4. And lastly a trivial question but how come your offering it as a guide rather than a tipping service? I know there’s nothing to say that you should offer it as a monthly service but I just would’ve thought it would be much more lucrative for you that way 😉

Look forward to the Thursday release.

  6. Matt Houghton Matt Houghton says:

    Hi Henry,

    1. There’s no logical reason why not but I haven’t tested them fully (there are only 24 hours in a day!) If you choose to use it on other leagues I’d obviously advise paper trading first but I see no reason why they wouldn’t work to a similar or even a better standard.

    2. Pretty even. The frequency of bets is more or less the same throughout the course of the season. That’s with the exception of the first six weeks of the season where I advise no bets, due to unpredictable form.

    3. You get bad runs and good runs for each but I’d say they’ve all performed roughly the same so far.

    4. I’d rather do less mundane work (sending emails etc) and have more time to concentrate on my betting. I’m not worried about a bit of extra cash!

  7. Henry says:

    Hi Matt,

    All sounds great, thanks.

Very excited to see the system now! And info on the price or will all be revealed Thursday?

  8. Matt Houghton Matt Houghton says:

    Yep, that’s right.

You’ll probably be surprised at how simple the instructions are to be honest but then it’s often the simplest ideas that are the most profitable isn’t it?!

No point over complicating matters for the sake of it.

  9. Blackthorn says:

You state a strike rate on single bets of 60% but what are the average win odds? You need odds of 0.67 just to break even at level stakes and most banker wins in soccer achieve lower odds than this! So are you increasing stakes after a loss?

Re. multiples, how many matches do you inclue in the accumulator?

Making good money from soccer betting is not as easy as many people think and from my experience I have yet to come across a genuinely profitable and reliable system despite trying literally hundreds of them.

  10. Thomas says:

    Hi Matt

I just paid for membership to your Sports betting club so all I want to know is will I receive this new system? I only joined yesterday and you did say you were close to completeing the new system.

  11. Matt Houghton Matt Houghton says:

    Hi Thomas,

Yes, it’s part of the Betting Club package.

  12. Matt Houghton Matt Houghton says:

    Hi Blackthorn,

The bets we place aren’t ‘bankers’ despite the high strike rate. The vast majority fall from 4/6 – 11/10 with the average roughly 4/5 (0.80).

There are occasionally bets shorter than 4/6 (0.67) but they’re very rare and so you don’t have back them if you don’t want to.

The largest accumulator bet so far has been 8 but most are around the 4 mark and often they are just doubles or trebles. I also advise smaller stakes when there are more than four selections in the accumulator.

  13. Thomas says:

    Hi Matt

Thanks and looking forward to Thursday

  14. Darren says:

    Hi Matt,

Where has this system been proofed to and for how long?

  15. Matt Houghton Matt Houghton says:

    Hi Darren,

They haven’t as I didn’t see the need but I’ve been testing since January last year.

You can check that the selections were selections for yourself by following the system rules. The only thing I’m not sure you can verify are the odds but it’s pretty obvious that they’re correct when you see them and when you know the markets.

The track record is available to everyone.

  16. John Gowers says:

    Hi Matt

Is there a description of the Goal-den formula in a language that a complete novice can understand? The terminology of betting is a complete mystery to me. How can you have a match with 2.5 goals????
