It’s Your Birthday! Have A Free Bet…

| February 18, 2015 | 6 Replies

If you’ve been subscribed to the Betting Rant for a little while you’ll know that I’m a big fan of exploiting the bookies…

And why wouldn’t I be?

They exploit us so it makes perfect sense that we should be constantly on the lookout for ways to exploit them.

Typically this is done by using matched betting to lock in guaranteed profits from free bets and only taking advantage of casino bonuses that turn the odds in your favour.

However, there are plenty of other ways to redress the balance and a friend and I discovered a novel little trick the other day…

Claiming free bets on your birthday!

How to do this is simple…

On your birthday (or potentially the date that the bookie ‘thinks’ is your birthday, nudge nudge wink wink) get onto their live chat function and say something like the following…

“Hi! It’s my birthday today and I’m usually sent a free bet from you for my loyal custom but I don’t seem to have received one this year. I was just wondering if you had forgotten about me. :(”

And voila, more often than not they’ll credit you with a freebie.

We didn’t spend a huge amount of time trying this the other day but of the bookies we spoke to, Betfair, Betfred and SkyBet all obliged, while only the misers at Paddy Power and Stan James said no – that’s a better than 50% strike rate!

Of course you’re going to be fairly limited by how often you can try this and even when you do it’s not going to make you a fortune but that’s not really the point of this email…

The point is to make you think and to take on board the mind-set (if you haven’t already) that the bookmakers will be more than happy to screw you over given half a chance and so if you find any opportunity to get something for nothing out of them, you should grasp it with both hands.

I cant understand it – I’m already into week three of my FREE trial for the network and I still can’t get into it. Earlier my password didn’t work for the betting rant, now I’ve just tried it again and it said that I’m already signed in so I clicked on the network and low and behold I could not get into it again. This is becoming unreal.
