How Much Money Do I Need to Get Started?

A betting bank of 200-points is recommended to follow this service.

How Much Money Can I Make?

The proofing sheet on the Greyhound Insider marketing page shows a total profit of 3,855.38 points since September 2015 (to end of August 2019). This equates to a monthly average profit of 80 points per month. This proofing period is for the tipster providing the Greyhound Insider service and refers to periods on other platforms (under a different name), not to the Greyhound Insider service itself.

How Much Time Will I Need to Make This Work?

It takes no more than 10 minutes or so each day when the tips are received, often between 08:30 and 09:30 but can be up to midday.

Will I Need Any Equipment to Do This?

A laptop, PC, tablet or smartphone with an internet connection and access to a range of online bookmaker accounts.

Value for Money?

As always, I will wait for the conclusion of the review period before offering an opinion. A very definite “yes” from me based on the review performance.

Quality of Customer Service?

The Bet Professionals offer full email support, as well as access to an exclusive members’ area. Although I have not had to use the support service, I found Simon extremely helpful and quick to respond when setting up the review.

The Greyhound Insider service is offered by The Bet Professionals and run by a tipster who has previously been providing his greyhound tips to another well-known tipping site under a different service name. We are told the man behind the tips is “an owner & breeder and there isn’t a face worth knowing in the greyhound world that he doesn’t have in his contact book.”

The service is built on just one or two selective tips on most days, although there can be more just as there can be “no bet” days. An average of around 60 bets per month would be expected. The vast majority of tips are straight win singles, although occasional forecasts (straight and reverse) crop up from time to time. The focus is on finding value in the odds offered by the bookmakers and this can mean advised odds of anywhere from odds on to double digit outsiders.

More often than not the daily email advice arrives between 08:30 and 09:30, although this is not set in stone and it can be as late as midday before the information arrives. The email itself is short and to the point, giving the race details, the selection (trap and name), the advised stake and the advised odds, together with the bookmakers offering those terms.

Staking is on a scale of one to five-points depending on the perceived strength of the bet. The average stake is around four points.

The “headline” number on the Greyhound Insider promo page is £4,000 per month profit. This is based on an average monthly profit of 80-points between September 2015 and August 2019 and £50 per point stakes. Whether you could keep enough accounts open with enough capacity to be able to get up to £250 bets on over a prolonged period whilst winning consistently is debatable in the current climate. Although this indication may be achievable in theory, a more conservative expectation should be taken.

As well as the 80-points per month average profit, the historic markers for this tipster are a strike rate of 35.5%, a return on investment (ROI) of 29.95% and average odds of 4.17 (over 3/1). We’ll use these as the benchmark for the review.

Results – Month 1 (10th August to 9th September 2019)

The historic results for the tipster behind this service set a very high bar indeed and I wasn’t necessarily expecting a single month’s results to come close to the benchmarks. However, a profit of 73.01 points was well in line with the expectation set and with the strike rate, ROI and average odds all well within the bounds of the markers this was an exceptionally good first month of the review.

There were 56 bets this month (including seven straight forecasts) and these provided 19 winners (no forecasts though), which gave us a strike rate of 33.93%. The average odds of all selections were 4.3 (between 3/1 and 7/2), whilst the winning selections averaged 3.63 (between 5/2 and 11/4).

Headford Cain at Monmore provided the biggest priced winner of the month at 6/1 and there were also a couple of 9/2 winners as well.

The ROI actually exceeded the historic level, achieving 34.28%this month. When you take into account the cost of the subscription fee this return nets down to 31.38% at £10 per point stakes or 33.69% at £50 per point stakes.

Results – Month 2 (10th September to 9th October 2019)

If last month proved that the historic benchmarks were in reach, then this month has blown them away. With 170.25 points profit, an ROI of 91.04% and average win odds of 4.1 (over 3/1) this month has raised the bar as far as Greyhound Insider is concerned. After two months we now have a combined profit of 243.26 points and a return on investment (ROI) of 60.82%. Whilst the naysayers will undoubtedly point to a staking plan of one to five-points (average 3.8 points) as inflating the headline profit, you cannot argue with the level of ROI that is being generated regardless.

The profit is a combination of a high strike rate (42.55%) and average winning odds of over 3/1 (4.1), which in greyhound terms represents regular value prices. The strike rate across the two months is still close to 40% after over 100 selections.

With such a high strike rate, losing runs are minimal and we were in profit throughout the month with the exception of a loser on the first day.

There was an 8/1 ante-post winner of the Kent St Leger in the month, but we also saw Agile Dorotas win at 13/2 and Exiles Gift at 5/1. In total there were ten winners at 7/2 (4.5) or better, excluding the ante-post win.

The 60.82% at the end of two months nets down, after taking into account the monthly cost of the subscription, to 57.12% at £10 per point stakes or 60.06% at £50 per point.

Results – Month 3 (10th October to 9th November 2019)

Ok, so it was always a longshot that we would see another month like the last one, but importantly we did see a third profitable month out of three. The profit of 4.23 points this time around means we end the three months with a gain of 247.49 points, more than doubling the starting bank in the quarter.

The ROI for the review as a whole ended at 40.84% and after deducting the cost of three months membership that figure nets down to 37.64% at £10 per point stakes and 40.19% at £50 per point.

The strike rate in this final period dropped to 30%, which still left us with a strike rate better than one-in-three over the course of the review. The month did suffer from a couple of longer losing sequences of seven and nine, but also had a run of four consecutive winners on the plus side. The drop in the strike rate was compounded by a drop in the average price of the winning selections too, down by almost a full point to 3.3 (c.9/4). Unlike last month, there were just two winners over 7/2 (4.5).

Summary at End of Month 1

An excellent start which certainly brings the historic results into focus. However, it is still only one month and just as I wouldn’t write a service off after one bad month nor am I going to get too carried away on the back of one (very!) good one.

Summary at End of Month 2

An exceptional month which has rewritten the expectations for this service.

Summary at End of Month 3

After two such amazing months it would be easy to view this month as something of a failure. However, whilst not hitting the heights of the previous periods, it did provide us with a third profitable month and we saw the starting bank more than double during the review.
