Four To Follow Update

| January 6, 2011 | Reply

Those of you that have been following my National Hunt fancies over the festive period will have had a prosperous time of it, with three wins out of three. Here’s a quick update on how my charges are fairing.

Big Bucks

When I released my ‘four to follow’ I referred to Big Bucks as:

“A license to print money”.

He has continued to be just that with two comfortable wins out of two. That’s now ten in a row for the French bred over hurdles and while he tends to go off at ultra-short prices that doesn’t really bother me because at present, this horse is nigh on unbeatable.

Trainer Paul Nicholls has said that he is to head straight to Cheltenham for the World Hurdle and providing he gets there intact the 1.79 currently on offer at Betfair is a steal – he is a best priced 4/7 elsewhere.

Hurricane Fly

Hurricane Fly bagged us a 7/2 winner during our Advent Bets series and he has since run (and won) again, beating rival Solwhit for a second time this season in the Festival Hurdle. I expect him to make it three on the bounce in the Irish Champion Hurdle on the 23rd and he is a best priced 4/7 with Paddy Power to do so.

Oscar Whisky

This bright young upstart surprised a few people when he sailed to victory on New Years Day but not me. Having watched him last season I was always confident of another big year from Oscar Whisky and that could well be the case, after he notched a victory at 3/1 on his seasonal reappearance.

Hopefully some of you will have profited that day. If you did miss out it might pay to keep an eye on the Racing Post for upcoming races involving Oscar Whisky and the other three horses mentioned here. I will also try and keep you updated on this website wherever possible, so keep your eyes open!

The only one of our ‘four to follow’ to lose a race this season, Tataniano finished third on his seasonal reappearance back in November. He was due to run again on December 27th only for the meeting at Kempton to be called off.
