Another Pair Of Famous Brothers To Back

| October 1, 2010 | Reply

It’s been quite a week for famous brothers with the Miliband’s dominating our headlines for the past few days.

They did us proud here at The Betting Rant with Ed coming in a 10/1 winner but now it’s time to switch our focus to another set of siblings…

The Molinaris.

Golf’s World Cup winners (golf has a World Cup, who knew?!) have been selected for this year’s Ryder Cup team and they mean business.

At ‘Top Overall Points Scorer’ odds of 33/1 apiece, they make a perfect ‘Dutching’ double act.

By the time you get this email, the Ryder Cup will be underway but don’t worry about that – the Molinaris don’t play until later today (weather permitting) and you’ll be able to bet in-play with [boyles] and Betfair.

Back each of them and if either brother wins you’ll have plenty to smile about regardless of the overall result.

Ryders on the storm

Now, normally golf doesn’t do much for me…

The players are oh so posh and the trousers are just silly.

But the Ryder Cup, well, that’s another kettle of fish.

Europe vs. USA?

Yes please!

This match up is akin to sporting warfare and with Field Marshall Montgomery leading the line, this year’s instalment should be even more brutal than usual.

Rory McIlroy has already spiced things up by saying of Tiger Woods:

“Unless his game rapidly improves… I think anyone in the European team would fancy their chances against him.”

And Tiger himself is bound to have lots of pent up frustration to unleash after his relative lack of action both on and off the pitch in recent months.

Of the two sides, Europe are the heavily fancied favourites at 4/7, so it would make sense for the top points scorer to come from these shores.

That leaves us with a handful of potential winners of this market, of whom McIlroy tops the pile.

There’s no doubt that Rory has had a good season but his recent comments have put him straight in the firing line and he will now be a prized scalp for the Americans.

The Molinari’s meanwhile have been racking up the wins but have also kept a relatively low profile – perfect Ryder Cup preparation.

Crucially, they also have each other’s support to rely upon and this could work wonders in what is a highly pressurized environment…

I mean, how else do you explain the success of the Neville brothers?!
