Two Ante-Post Bets From My Man Up North

| July 27, 2011 | 4 Replies

Since my soiree to Ascot on Friday (four successive second places followed by a suitable quantity of consolation juice) I’ve been enjoying a few days off in a surprisingly sunny Weston-Super-Mare…

This is the reason why some of you are only now getting responses to your emails (please do try and be patient, I’m only one man!) and is also the reason why I am now all but literally snowed under.

So, I’m going to cheat a little with today’s article by handing over to my ‘man up north’ Raymond Pollock…

Raymond’s full time job is to watch Scottish football and keep tabs on the players and managers but while that does have it’s down sides…

Bad weather, worse football…

It also has its up sides – namely, the fact that inside info and a bit of expert knowledge is an absolute dream for Scottish football bettors…

After all, can you really see an odds compiler spending his afternoon analysing the intricacies of Annan Athletics’ away form?

No, me neither.

Well, that’s exactly why Raymond is going to be a part of my brand new football tipping service which will be coming to an email account near you soon…

There will be more info on that over the coming days and weeks but as a starting point I thought I’d provide you all with a couple of freebies to keep you entertained throughout the season and hopefully line your pockets at the end of it.

As a quick note before I hand over to Raymond, these two selections were actually advised to me at 18/1 and 3/1 – there is still some decent value on offer but that just goes to show how useful a man up north can be!

Stenhousemuir to win Division Two – half a point at 10/1 with Bwin

The warriors just managed to avoid relegation last year with a good run of form at the end of the season to pip Alloa.

I’m told manager Davie Irons has had a good bet on the team this season at big odds and he is a very occasional bettor apparently.

Stenny have added some good quality players over the summer to date with the promise of more to come and in a summer period where only really Brechin have added to their squad the Ochilview men rate as good value in a wide open division this season.

Peterhead to win Division Three – two points at 15/8 with Bet Victor and BETFRED

Never have I been so confident of an ante-post wager…

Peterhead were relegated from Division Two last season and immediately addressed that blow by signing some good quality players from other second division clubs, players who can be rated as decent at that level and who should shine in Division Three.

The icing on the cake though is the signing of the prolific Brechin striker Rory McAllister who notched over 20 goals last season in the second division and who could have signed for an SPL club such was his impact.

McAllister has gone to the Blue Toon so he can finish his plumbing apprenticeship but is still being paid good money by Peterhead and I can see him rattle 30 goals plus in the basement of Scottish league football.

With the promotion of Arbroath from Division Three there are no quality sides in there and Peterhead should be a class apart with the odds way off the mark as I would rate them even money or lower.

So there you go, strikers doing plumbing apprenticeships and managers placing rare bets, I told you inside info played a big part in successful Scottish betting!

Well exactly, local knowledge in the smaller leagues is key. The same can be said of non-league English sides.

That’s why I’ve got Raymond in and, having proofed his tips for some time, I’m confident that the info he relays will be very valuable indeed.

Anything happening with Hot Horses today Matt?

Yep, just doing them now. Sorry about the delay, getting them out early on a weekend can sometimes be tricky for me.
