Review

A new style for HRR products with the data you subscribe to being available through any device that supports a web browser thus making it available to pretty much all of you with any type of device.. The sign up process is simple and you will receive an email advice of your password which will allow access to the link also provided and thus the selections.

The service offers what are considered to be the best favourites for the days racing – low end odds inevitable – and they become available around 10.30am on the day of racing. You merely log in to the site and access the selections. Could not really be much more simple.

The site performance has been calculated using level stakes and we have recorded on this basis with BOG and BSP prices shown. There are days with no selections.

We have seen a very interesting exercise in the potential for betting on horses at short odds. The prices of selections have ranged up to 3.24 at BSP but the majority are odds on. The scan does not just pick all the low prices for the day – it applies other criteria to hone the low odds favourites into a final choice of the most likely to succeed.

The trail has now looked at 100 runners (in about 6 weeks) and with the early flat season in this period it looks as though this may be a time to hold off in future – the strike rate is 48% which is well down on the experience since launch and both the BSP and BOG pricing options are showing a loss at level stakes. The main culprit has been a losing run of 10 consecutive selections against which the best winning streak is 6. The bank has generally hovered around the start point and currently shows a 6.7 point loss at BOG or 10.3 points at BSP.

It will be interesting to see if the next month or so sees a return to the near 60% strike rate which should generate some profit. If so then it may be that a staking plan would improve returns and we will take a look at this aspect. If the historic strike rate can be achieved then the software price is minimal in relation to the potential profit so lets hope things can move in that direction.

Update 6/8/2017:

Sadly the anticipated improvement has not been achieved and a steady decline in the bank would have been seen. The strike rate has remained stubbornly below 50% which is insufficient to generate profits. A salutary lesson in the perils of backing low priced favourites the more chastening when you consider that the selections should have that little bit more going for them. I did wonder if there might be an angle place backing despite the low odds and thanks to a good late run a small profit has been achieved – 9.8 points from 178 races. Would probably be very frustrating to follow live though.

The full trial has seen 349 runners with 166 winning (47.56%) and at level stakes would have resulted in a 47.5 point loss at BSP or 35.6 if using BOG prices. I did investigate if an alternative staking plan might help but without success.
