Betting Super Profits by Robert Grimes is a horse racing system that claims can make you big profits from a quick and easy 10 point plan. It claims to be easy enough for anyone to use with any starting bank.
What’s It All About?
There are 9 selection criteria for this so called system including the stipulation that a horse must be within 7lb of its Usual Weight.
The manual says it has produced 400 selections in the last year (139 in 2010 so the end of 2009 must have been productive!) which I find hard to believe given the limitations imposed which exclude hard or firm going courses.
The results data is said to be available on request – I have asked for it so we shall see. A strike rate of 65.8% seems low for a laying system and would not produce a profit if the average price was 3.0 which begs the question of how the claimed results were actually achieved.
His £100k profit in the year equates to a lay price of £250 per bet if we use his 400 mark or £719 if the 139 figure is used so you need to have deep pockets to achieve similar results!
No guidance whatsoever given on the dangers of laying, no maximum lay price given either.

Interim Review 09/11/2010
My initial misgivings on seeing this system have been well founded. The “manual” is a 1 page effort with no real guidance on anything and a comment that he will leave the buyer to decide how much to risk on each race.
Despite offering to email the past results to buyers if they ask the author has completely ignored 2 requests for this information and also a clarification of the meaning of the “within 7lb” of normal weight criterion.
I do not regard myself as anything like a racing expert but cannot find anyone who can guide me on this point. Draw your own conclusions about the system.
So far there have been 12 selections of which 7 have won the race and so proved losing lays. There were 3 losing lays in succession recently. Even at the relatively low odds seen (max is 2.88) the bank is still suffering and the claims of profits in the marketing material are looking remote to say the least.
Will persevere and collate a full month’s results here but for now do not go anywhere near this.
Final Review – 01/12/2010
The results derived by using this system are shown in the spreadsheet and only go to confirm the views expressed in the interim report. 14 of 22 selections have been winners and this is supposed to be a lay betting system!
The manual states that the system has never before been released to the market and perhaps these results demonstrate why. A run of 4 consecutive winners was seen and the best run of losers was only 2.
I am fully expecting a re-launch of the system as a winners tipping service shortly. Just in case anyone is interested in the mechanics of the system it applies to 6 or 7 furlong races only and the horse must not have raced more than 5 times in the last year.
There are 7 other criteria as well and as mentioned earlier I have not been able to find anyone who knows how to calculate one of them so my results ignore this one. It is relatively simple to make selections – although in the height of summer I can see it taking some time – and as it just doesn’t work why would you want to bother?
Avoid at all costs.
