Profit From These Speedy Starters

| August 31, 2011 | Reply

On Friday I introduced you to my new Moto GP tipster, Luke Towler, who had just provided us with his first set of tips.

Well, I’m delighted to say that he didn’t disappoint!

Luke tipped two pole sitters out of three races and all three winners, as well as a 16/1 runner up in the 125cc category.

His next set of tips will be posted on Friday and Saturday ahead of this weekend’s San Marino GP and I for one can’t wait to see what he’s got in store.

To take a look over his last set of tips and to tell us about any winners you had, click here.

The art of buying success pt.1

Talking of speedy starters, there’s been one Premier League team in particular that has caught my eye over the opening weeks of the season and oddly enough, it’s not the one that battered Arsenal 8-2…

In fact, it’s their local rivals, Manchester City.

City have been building steadily over the last few seasons (Roman Abramovich take note) and they are now rightly considered to be genuine title challengers.

Manger Roberto Mancini has put together a well drilled outfit with more than a little attacking flair and as a result I’m struggling to see past them when it comes to the Premier league title race.

Sure, Manchester United have started strongly but I can’t help but feel that their results have greatly flattered them…

In their opener they scraped a victory over West Brom courtesy of a late own goal (stop me if you’ve heard this one before!)…

In their second match they took their time to open up a Tottenham side distracted by the Modric saga…

And in their third match they didn’t beat a football team – they beat a shambling shipwreck managed by a myopic old man on the brink of meltdown.

Elsewhere, Liverpool have looked strong and I’m pretty pleased with our pre-season investment at 16/1 but they’re still dark horses, while Chelsea have been struggling to see off relegation candidates.

With most firms offering 2/1 and with a home tie against Wigan up next, I think there’s some value in a 9/4 City bet…

Conveniently that’s just the price you can get with Coral and Stan James, so let’s snap up a piece of the action and boost our Premier League portfolio.

The art of buying success pt.2

Can you see an area of weakness in this City squad?

I certainly can’t.

In goal they have England’s best number one since David Seaman (what do you mean that isn’t saying much?!)…

In defence they were excellent last year and have further strengthened the squad this…

And in attack they’ve brought in Nasri and Aguero, kept Tevez and woken Edin Dzeko from his six month slumber.

Unlike Real Madrid’s inconsistent Galacticos, this is a well balanced squad with an immense amount of strength in depth…

And unlike Chelsea under Abramovich, City are hungry for the League title and their fans are hungry too – the Champions League is but a mere distraction from the main event.

It’s an unfortunate fact of modern football that success is regularly bought and 9/4 is a fair price that history will repeat itself here…

So, back Manchester City to win the Premier League (there’s a line I never thought I’d say) at 9/4 with Stan James or Coral and use their billions to generate some cash of your own.
