Moto GP Tips – Aragon

| September 17, 2011 | Reply

This weeks race takes us to Aragon, Spain and we are set for more frantic racing. Serious money is to be made so make sure you follow our lead.

Last seasons race weekend at Aragon proved quite the minefield and would have resulted in many men visiting the bank manager on Monday morning – Randy Krummenacher is still in my bad books for taking out Marc Marquez at the first corner on the first lap!

Race Start: 10:00

Having watched qualifying and seen Hector Faubel snatch pole position at the death I cannot wait for race time.

Faubel has posted consistently quick laps across the practise sessions and I do fancy him to take a top three finish in the race. I will also put the fantastically named Maverick Vinales in to snatch a top three finish.

Nico’ Terol is the man to back for the win – not starting on pole will increase his normal short odds and he should be nailed on to take 1st place. He has form around the track and will want to extend his lead over Zarco.

  • Faubel to finish top three at 9/10 with Bwin
  • Minales to finish top three at 1/2 with Bwin
  • Nicolas Terol to win at 7/5 with Bwin

Race Start: 11:15

Had this gone out last night Marquez would have been screamed from the roof tops to take a clean sweep of pole and race win. At this moment in time he is the man on form coupled with the quickest bike.

But and this is a big mad Italian but, Andrea Iannone loves this place. I expected him to have a poor qualification but also wait for him to cut through the field and be at the sharp end.

  • De Angelis & Iannone to finish top three
  • Marc Marquez to win at 4/6 with Boyle Sports

Long shot…

Race start: 13:00

Casey Stoner has had a two week rest which should mean he is fully fit and ready to smash the field to bits. Somehow the Australian two time World Champion to be took the chequered flag on the dog with flees that was the Ducati last season and so he should be highly fancied this time around.

A power cut stopped the second practise session on Friday but this has not stopped the Hondas leading the field by some distance.

Looking at the time sheets will not be good reading for Lorenzo – not only has he struggled to get a competitive set up but his team mate Ben Spies has beaten him in warm ups and has stuck the Yamaha in front of him in qualifying.

  • Casey Stoner to win at 6/5 with Boyle Sports
  • Dani Pedrosa to finish top three at 1/5 with and Betfair
  • Andrea Dovizioso to finish top three at 5/2 with Sky Bet and Stan James
  • Dani Pedrosa to lead after 1st lap at 2.3 with Betfair

  • Terol, Marquez and Stoner to win at 7/1 with Boyle Sports
  • Also doubles on Terol & Marquez (3/1) and Terol & Stoner (4/1) will give some future spending money
