Kick Start The Ashes With This Trading Opportunity

| November 19, 2010 | Reply

Get ready to rejoice cricket fans, the Ashes is almost upon us!

This Thursday Andrew Strauss will lead his merry men into battle against the war weary Aussies and for once, it’ll be in expectation rather than hope.

Intimidating they may still be but following an abysmal few months in which they have lost seven of their last eight matches, Ricky Ponting’s men are there to be shot at.

The question is, do England have the firepower?

I’m saying yes but only after an almighty struggle.

Of course, I can hardly advocate backing England bearing in mind my stance on betting with the head not the heart…

But what I can advocate is a bet on the series draw with an intention to trade out at a later date.

We’ll deal with the trade aspect in a moment but first off, back the draw at 5/1 with Sporting Bet or .

A war of attrition

I can only see this Ashes series going one way and that’s straight down the middle.

Australia are pretty formidable at home, hence why they are still favourites despite their shoddy form…

England meanwhile, have been flying of late, adding Test and One Day victories over Pakistan to a One Day series win over Australia and the World 20/20 crown.

If this was being played in England it’s highly likely that Strauss’s men would be at their shortest Ashes price for decades…

BUT that doesn’t mean we can write off the Aussies home advantage.

As I’ve previously mentioned, Australia are formidable at home and that’s exactly why England haven’t won there in so long and exactly why they are not the favourites to do so this time around.

In short, this series is going to be tighter than a Scotsman’s wallet.

What this means for our bet is that after three or four Tests there is unlikely to be more than a game in it…

And with England only needing a draw to retain the urn there won’t be any heroics should they be level going into the final match.

As a result of all of this the draw odds are likely to plummet as the series progresses, which will put us in a great position to ‘lay off’ our bet and guarantee a profit regardless of the outcome.

So, take the odds of 5/1 for a series draw now and I’ll be in touch as soon as the opportune trading moment arises.

More top batsmen

Given their success, you may be wondering why I’ve not got another top batsman tip lined up…

Well, the truth of the matter is that I have but I’m keeping it under wraps.

Now, this isn’t a case of me being selfish but more a case of good things coming to those who wait…

As, all things going well, I’ll be revealing the selection on Thursday.

You may remember that a while back I mentioned that I was working on my Top Batsman System, well, the launch is almost here and soon you too should be able to pick out top batsmen with alarming regularity.

After all, why wait on somebody else to provide the tips when you could be working out the winners for yourself in just about any international cricket series?!

I’m hoping that the guide will be ready to go from the end of next week so keep your eyes open and your ears pinned back…

Love it or hate it, you’re bound to raise a smile when you start cleaning up on the cricket!

Today’s Trivia

Q. The last Ashes series in Australia was a disaster for the visitors as they were whitewashed 5-0 but they did still manage to contribute the second highest run scorer. Who was he?

A. He may be struggling for form at the moment but Kevin Pietersen was on fire in 2007, hitting 490 runs at an average of 54.44.
