Important Trading Update
With Mark Williams and Ding Junhui both safely through to the semi-finals of the snooker World Championship I thought it fine time to lock in a profit. I’m going to keep this as brief as possible but if you’d like any more details or reasoning just leave a comment below.
This trade is for all those that backed Mark Williams and Ding Junhui in the ‘outright’ market before the start of the tournament…
Bet – Back John Higgins to win the snooker World Championship with twice your normal stake at 2/1 with Betfair or .
We’ve already backed Ding and Williams at 9/1 so this bet insures that if Higgins wins, we make two points profit and if one of the other two win we still make six points profit.
The only result that can ruin our tournament is a Judd Trump victory and quite frankly, I’m prepared to take our chances on that score. The silly haired Bristolian has done well to get this far and I’ve seen nothing to suggest that he is good enough to beat Ding, Williams or Higgins over a longer frame format. To beat two of them in the space of five days should therefore be beyond him.

Well done John. Lesser men would have crumbled.
I hope you all took the trading advice. It was a tricky betting tournament but we’ve come out of it in the black.
…and well done Matt. As you say, the saver bet came up Trumps (ouch) and left me just in the black for the tournament overall. The final was great viewing, even if the snooker was affected by a touch of the nerves now & again. Looks like JT could be one for the future.
Next up will be the close of the WI v Pak ODIs with your Top Bat system – looking good at the moment.
Pete
I bet on your two advice Williams and Ding but i did not had a saver on j higgins.THANKS I WILL BE MOORE CAREFULL NEXT TIME.
MY REGARDS
E MEVLIT.
Hi Pete,
Looks like that’s two out of two for the Top Batsman System since the World Cup, after also picking out the winner in the Australia vs. Bangladesh series.
I was actually away just before the start of the Pakistan series and didn’t have an opportunity to place the bet. Can I ask what odds you got for the two selections so that I can add them to my track record?
Cheers,
Matt
Matt,
Sorry, I didn’t see your post above – I actually came on here just to say thanks once again as the TBS selected both the top 2 for Pakistan in the ODI series. I didn’t bet on the WI as there situation is far too complicated & didn’t throw up any obvious candidates.
I actually found it a bit thin on the ground when it came to finding bookies offering odds on this. It wasn’t even on Betfair this time. I ended up at Stan James
As to the odds, I got Hafeez at 3.75 & Ul Haq at 4.5, so not too spectacular but a win’s a win’s a win & I never turn down a profit. I must admit I left it a bit late in the day, but that was largely due to the lack of bookies offering odds, as I said above.
Next up the test series, then England. Shouldn’t be any shortage of markets there.
So, well done again. Now, if only I could get the Lay-zy Dogs to work…
Ta,
No problem Pete, I only added the comment a few hours earlier. You were right not to back a WI batsman by the way – no one qualified as per the guide.
Have you got any specific issues with Lay-zy Dogs? It is well in profit to level stakes over the past few weeks.
Send me an email if you’re not sure about any aspect and I’ll run through it with you.
