Bag A Hat-trick With Another Top Cricket Tip

First Morgan mullered the Aussies…

Then Strauss battered Bangladesh…

Now it’s Trott whose terrorising Pakistan…

And providing the rest of us with a perfect opportunity to complete a hat-trick of successful batting bets.

If you’ve been following my tips recently…

And if not, why not?!…

You’ll have found yourself considerably better off after backing Morgan to top score in the One Day series with Australia at 11/2…

And Strauss in the series vs. Bangladesh at 11/4.

Against Pakistan I’ve been a little more wary.

In fact, I’ll readily admit that I was concerned that Pakistan’s young bowlers would turn the ‘Top England Batsman’ market into a lottery.

As it happens I needn’t have worried…

Because the visiting attack is still wet behind the ears…

And the defence is nothing short of comical.

With this in mind, it’s high time to show our hand…

And deal in Jonathan Trott at 3/1.

A lot of recent Rant issues have focused on the new football season but I’m always keen to return to a happy hunting ground, such as international cricket…

Especially with the great value on offer here.

A man in form, Jonathan Trott would have been a decent bet before the series started…

Two Tests in, he’s the steal of the century.

Back the unfashionable favourite before the
masses cotton on

Logically, it’s hard to see why Trott can still be backed at 3/1…

After all, he has scored more runs than anybody else at this stage…

He’s the number three batsman so will get opportunities to score runs regardless of how poorly the opposition perform…

And his recent form has been excellent.

Against Bangladesh he hit 110 and 94 and so far this series, Trott has scored two half century’s – more than any other England batsman…

And at least 26 runs an innings, which is also more than any other England batsman.

He is currently 19 runs clear of his nearest challenger – middle order man Eoin Morgan…

A cool half century ahead of Cap’n Strauss…

And 61 clear of the hopelessly out of sorts Kevin Pietersen.

You see, Trott really should be somewhere approaching odds on.

However, Morgan and Pietersen are both easier on the eye…

And while ‘sexy cricket’ is not a phrase often uttered by Geoffrey Boycott, it is important.

The public love a maverick and this is often reflected in the betting odds…

With Pietersen always amongst the favourites, despite looking shakier than Shakin’ Stevens…

And Morgan right up there, even though he may only get to bat once in each of the last two matches.

Fortunately at the Betting Rant, we don’t let ourselves be swayed by the mavericks of this world…

And while we may want them to put on a show, our money is where it should be – on the ice men…

The men that are calm under pressure and deliver results time and again…

So get behind this particular ice man and back Jonathan Trott to finish as top England batsman for the series.

He’s a best priced 3/1 with Stan James but can also be backed at 5/2 with William HillWilliam Hill Sports.
